For those who joined Sean's winter Instagram Live, you would have had the pleasure of hearing some amazing hot fancy fruit cup serves. Now it's over to you to make your own amazing drinks in the comfort of your own home. There's four recipes below that are sure to be winter warmers and crowd pleasers. 

Fancy Mulled Pear Cider (makes 2 serves)

  • 60ml Fancy Fruit Cup
  • 330ml pear cider (I used Hills Pear Cider)
  • 20ml maple syrup 
  • 20ml vanilla syrup
  • 30ml pear juice/nectar
  • 40ml water
  • Cinnamon quill + pear slice to garnish 

Warm all ingredients except the liquor on a stove top. Just before it begins to simmer, add liquor and serve in heat proof glass or mug. Alternatively add all ingredients to slow cooker on ‘Keep Warm’ setting and ladle into heat proof glass or mug. Garnish with slice of pear and cinnamon stick. 


Hot Gin and Ginger (makes 2 serves)

  • 60ml Triple Juniper Gin
  • 200ml Fever Tree Ginger Beer
  • 20ml honey syrup (1:1 honey and water)
  • 20ml vanilla syrup (1:1 sugar and water + vanilla extract)
  • 40ml water
  • 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
  • Fresh lemon peel
  • Slice of fresh ginger
  • Crystallised ginger on two toothpicks 

Warm all ingredients except the liquor on a stove top. Just before it begins to simmer, add liquor and serve in heat proof glass or mug. Alternatively add all ingredients to slow cooker on ‘Keep Warm’ setting and ladle into heat proof glass or mug. Garnish with fresh lemon peel, fresh ginger and crystallised ginger. 

 

Hot Fancy Fruit Cup Drinks

 

Fancy Buttered Apple Pie (makes 2 serves)

45ml Fancy Fruit Cup

150ml apple juice

15ml maple syrup

Tablespoon of butter

Pinch of sea salt

Pinch of cinnamon sugar

Pinch of nutmeg


Warm all ingredients including the liquor on the steam arm of a coffee machine or in a pot on the stovetop (blitz the mixture with a hand blender to emulsify). Pour into a glass and cover with a thin layer of fresh nutmeg and cinnamon sugar.


Mulled Pomegranate Ginache (makes 3 serves)

100ml Ginache Grenache Gin

400ml apple juice

2 x T2 Pomegranate Pumper Teabags

40ml vanilla syrup 

Squeeze half of fresh orange 

1 cinnamon quill 

1 star anise

10 dried cranberries

1 cardamon pod

Fresh orange peel

Fresh apple slice


Warm all ingredients except the liquor on a stove top. Just before it begins to simmer, add liquor, turn the heat off and allow the flavours to incorporate. Serve in heat proof glass or mug. Alternatively add all ingredients to slow cooker on ‘Keep Warm’ setting and ladle into heat proof glass or mug after it comes to temperature. Garnish with fresh orange peel and fresh apple slice.
