We have won Best Distillery Bar at the Australian Bar Awards held in Sydney recently.

The award was contested by a shortlist of 12 incredible venues from all across Australia including interstate heavyweights such as Four Pillars and Archie Rose.

It was a wonderful opportunity for our hard-working distillery door staff to be rightfully celebrated on the national stage. We’ve always worked hard to create exceptional hospitality experiences for our guests at our distillery door home. It’s very special for these actions to receive such high praise from a panel of industry judges and our peers.

We’ve built a gin that has won countless awards for its quality and its consistency on the world stage, so it’s rewarding for our distillery bar to get its chance to shine as well.

Ever since we opened the doors in 2020, we’ve tried to instil a high level of service across the entire team, aided by some incredibly talented staff we’ve managed to secure along the way. Those staff have poured out over 125,000 tasting flights with just a handful responsible for a large majority of them.

We’ve built a gin that has won countless awards for its quality and its consistency on the world stage, so it’s rewarding for our distillery bar to get its chance to shine as well.

Located just 45 mins from the Adelaide CBD, our distillery door (nestled on top of Chalk Hill) boasts some of the most beautiful views in the country, especially when it comes to sipping on a G&T or indulging in a tasting flight.

The building itself is architecturally designed, utilising traditional agricultural materials, dominated by an expansive covered deck and lawn that showcases spectacular 300-degree views of the region.

The structure was designed by Steve Layton Design with our interior done by local outfit Genesin Studios.

The building pays homage to the farming sheds that dominate the wine region’s landscape, its horizontal corrugated iron and internal steel supports hinting at its agricultural DNA. However, that’s where the correlation stops, with the Never Never distillery door echoing the style and sophistication of an inner-city bar experience.

While our bar is gorgeous to look at and the views are pretty special, it’s the staff who run our cellar door who are truly world class.

Our amazing Distillery Door General Manager Kate Rowlands is incredibly proud of the team that she has grown since taking on the role in November of 2020.
